Divine Mercy Sunday, celebrated on the Second Sunday of Easter, is a feast day that focuses on the gift of mercy and love given through Christ's death, burial and resurrection.
The feast emerged from revelations to St. Maria Faustina Kowolska in the 1930's where Jesus emphasized the importance of His mercy and desired a special feast to honor it. Pope John Paul II officially established Divine Mercy Sunday on January 30, 2000 during the canonization of St. Faustina. In her diary, St. Faustina recounted Jesus' promises of grace and forgiveness for those who participate in this feast day.
The Knights 4th Degree Color Corp has been called out for this event and will be participating as they have in years past.
