Dear Brother Knights,
Welcome to the November issue of Cross & Compass.
November was always a special month in our family for several reasons: First, my younger sister and I were born two years and two days apart in late November, which usually meant plenty of birthday presents for both of us around Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving was also a time of celebration with a delicious turkey dinner and all the fixings. Now that both of us are a lot older, we are grateful for all the Blessings that have been bestowed on our country.
Veterans Day on November 11th is a time to pay tribute to all the veterans who defended our great country; especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. A special thank-you to all my Brother Knights in Council 9924 and Assembly 1818 who have served in the Military, Police and as First Responders.
A gentle reminder to all Knights that Adoration & Benediction is celebrated every Friday in the Chapel located in the left rear wing of OLOL from 9:00am to 5:00pm. I consider this half-hour of prayers & readings to be the most peaceful part of my week. “Jesus, I Trust in You”

- November 8th Sunday Knights Best Breakfast after 8:00am & 10:00am Masses
- November 10th Tuesday OWR Italian Night & Fundraiser Sarasota National 4:30pm–9:30pm
- November 11th Wednesday Veterans Day & KofC 9924 General Meeting 6:45pm–8:00pm
- November 14th & 15th Saturday & Sunday Recruiting Drive before/after all Masses (Steve Vacca)
- November 15th Sunday OneBlood Drive in the Big Red Bus 8:00am to 1:00pm by appointment (Jim Quinnan)
- November 26th Thursday Thanksgiving Day
- November 28th & 29th Saturday & Sunday Food Collection before all Masses (Bob Nowicki)
- November 28th & 29th Saturday & Sunday 5th Sunday Rosary before all Masses (Bob Burhoe)
November 1st, Sunday at 2:00am, marks the end of Daylight Saving Time. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour. We will gain an extra hour of sleep and enjoy more daylight in the morning.
