Merry Christmas Brother’s,
Welcome to the December edition of the Cross and Compass. It is hard to believe that we are in December already and Christmas is right around the corner. As we approach the end of another year, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on the blessings we’ve received and the meaningful work we’ve accomplished together. December is a season of joy, hope, and giving—a time to celebrate the birth of Christ, our Savior, and for us to renew our commitment to serve as His hands and feet in the world.
This year, our council has been a shining example of faith in action. From our charitable initiatives to our spiritual activities, we have shown the power of unity and dedication to our principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. I am particularly proud of all the work we have done this year from our Monthly Food Drives, Annual Golf Outing, Italian Knight, Pancake breakfasts, Clothing Drives, Blood Drives and everything else we do. It’s just simply incredible what we accomplish when we all come together. We need to give Ray Pronko and his team a huge round of applause as they raised over $45,000 for our veterans. BRAVO!!! As well Dave Tura and his team were able to raise over $42,000 for 3 local charities. Again, BRAVO! Job well done.
As we celebrate Christmas, let us remember those who may find this time of year difficult—the lonely, the sick, and the less fortunate. I encourage each of us to reach out with acts of kindness and generosity. Whether it’s helping by visiting the homebound, or simply sharing a kind word, every small act makes a difference. December is an important month for us as we celebrate Advent and Christmas. Advent is a time of prayer and preparation for Christ’s birth and second coming. Key feasts include the Immaculate Conception on December 8, celebrating Mary’s sinless conception, and Our Lady of Guadalupe December 12, honoring Mary’s appearance in Mexico. Then Christmas marks Jesus’ birth, celebrated with Midnight Mass and acts of love. Let’s all together focus on reflection, prayer, and joy, as we highlight God’s love through Jesus’ coming to save us all.
Lastly, I am deeply grateful for your dedication, time, and energy. To my fellow officers and all our members, thank you for your unwavering support and teamwork. You inspire me daily with your commitment to our mission to make our church, council and our community a better place for all by being the hands and feet of Jesus.
May the joy and peace of Christmas fill your hearts and homes, and may the new year bringblessings to you and your loved ones. I look forward to seeing everyone at Mass or our nextmeeting on 12/11 at 5:30 with the Rosary.
Merry Christmas!
Vivat Jesus!
